Tooth Exposures

Sometimes teeth become impacted – meaning unable to erupt from the gum and function normally. Tooth exposure is simply a surgical procedure which helps teeth erupt and come into their proper positions.

A typical tooth exposure patient is referred by an orthodontist concerned about keeping your teeth in their correct occlusion (proper position and alignment).

Occasionally, your dentist or another health practitioner may observe what appears to be an abnormal lesion, a white patch in the mouth or a lump on your lip. In this case, you may be referred to us for a biopsy. The biopsy will allow us to determine a definitive diagnosis.

Dr. Garcia will review the results with you, discuss treatment options, or refer you to a specialist, such as an ear-nose-&-throat doctor for follow up treatment.

Facial Trauma

Facial injuries can include broken teeth, a broken jaw or cheekbone. Sports injuries and auto accidents, on-the-job mishaps, and even acts of violence can cause serious injury to your teeth and facial bones.

Dr. Jeff Garcia completed a 4 year surgical residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, with experience in surgical treatment of facial trauma. His office includes a new 3D cone beam scanner from Planmeca.
